siphon is a press results service for orienteering and other similar sports such as running, ski orienteering and nordic skiing.

Using race results published on the internet, siphon selects, cleans and reformats the results into a media friendly format for easy publication.

Making it easy for race organizers

Race organizers already publish results directly on the internet. siphon allows them to provide an efficient press results service without any extra effort.

siphon has been designed to handle results produced by any race administration system. The only requirement is that they are html or plain text (pdf, microsoft word, excel and other proprietory formats are not currently supported).

siphon is however restricted to individual races - relay race results cannot normally be handled.

Making it easy for the media

Each registered user creates their own individual profile. This profile is used to customize the look and contents of their result selections.

Club statistics

siphon has also proved useful to clubs who can use it to extract and summarize their members' results.

No charge

There is no charge for race organizers.

siphon comes in two flavours for journalists - a free 'basic' service and a 'standard' service which carries a yearly subscription charge.

Award winning

The 2003 Bertil Nordenfelt Prize for services to orienteering was awarded to siphon.

siphon was also official press results supplier for the 2003 Swedish Orienteering Championships.
